Fourth of July 2008

Another Fourth of July has come and gone. I was at Dave and Teresa's lake place on Middle Cormorant for the week. We were actually home the weekend before for Karin McGregor and Ottar Dahl's wedding. Ottar and his family from Norway are John's distant cousins. How small our world is!! Troy went back to work that Mon-Wed. The week went pretty smooth. Tara entertained us Tuesday night, as she accidentally had too much to drink. She didn't realize that Teresa had already put alcohol into the bucket of a slushy drink, so she decided to add her own tequila. (don't worry Tara, I won't post the pic I took of you on here, it is on my Facebook page though) Thursday night, the adults headed to the Roadhouse to listen and dance to The Shakers. We met up with Brandon, Amanda, Lisa, and Ross. Fun as always!! Emma tried tubing again this year, but got scared and had to ride with Teresa on the jet-ski. Eric made a comment on how he could actually talk with her this year. We said the same about Cole. Brody did pretty good too. I didn't feel as though I had to constantly know where he was. He wasn't to excited about the water, so I knew he wasn't going to walk in over his head, and the older kids did a great job playing with him. He had the most fun with Riley, Alec and Cole. Tori and Olivia wanted to play with him so badly, but he wouldn't have anything to do with them. He was the same way with Teresa and Tara. Don't worry girls, he'll come around.........someday. Emma actually jumped off the tramp to swim back to shore, but she wouldn't jump off the dock.

Family photo- color coordinated and everything! Thanks Amanda :)

How patriotic. This was right before the boat parade. Of course Brody isn't in the picture because he can't sit still for two seconds. Emma has on a Miller Lite necklace that Troy brought home from the Roadhouse the night before. She has her nervous/uncomfortable smile on, not sure why though. Tori and Olivia singing the fun song (?) I think we heard it at least three times. Dave's sister Lavonne brought her karoake machine over, and we had a little party. There were probably 25 people there. Emma and Sydney did their rendition of the Dora theme song. I guess you could say that Sydney was her backup singer, as I don't think the mike she was using worked. I thought for sure Emma would no way get up and sing in front of people, but she surprised us!!
